Horsebox Hire
What do I need to make a booking?
When you are ready to book on line you will need a copy of the photo card of your full UK driving licence, and copies of two utility bills from within the last 3 months as proof of your address, which must match the address on your driving licence. You need to upload all these documents using the 'upload files' button on our book online page.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We ask for a £50 deposit to secure your booking. For cancellations up to 1 week prior to your booking, we will refund the deposit in full.
Do I need to put fuel in the horsebox?
The horsebox is provided with enough fuel to get you comfortably to a fuel station. We ask that you return the horsebox to 'Base' with the same amount of fuel as when it was collected.
What size horses can it carry?
The horsebox has a payload of 1000 kg and is designed to carry two horses up to 1000 kg in total. So two 15.2h, or a 16.2h and a pony for example.
Can I collect the night before and bring back the morning after?
For full day hire you can collect the night before and return the following evening.
How do I make payment?
Payment is online via Paypal or card.
What age do I need to be to self drive?
You need to be 23 years old or over, and have held a full UK drivers licence for 3 years or more.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be in writing, email is sufficient. If the cancellation notice is received more than 7 days before the hire date, then a full refund is given. For cancellations within 7 days of the hire date, the booking deposit of £50 is non refundable.
What if the horsebox breaks down?
In the event of a breakdown please contact us immediately and we will call Equine Rescue on your behalf.
How many people can the horsebox carry?
The driver and 2 passengers.
Do I have to agree to your T&C's?
Yes as part of the booking process, you will be asked to confirm that you agree with our Terms & Conditions of Horsebox Hire. Please review these in full before booking. They are available to view by clicking on the link next to the confirmation check box on the booking form, or on our book online page.
Do I need to return it cleaned out?
The vehicle must be returned to us CLEANED, SWEPT and hosed out where necessary.
There will be a penalty of £50 if the horsebox is not cleaned out to our satisfaction.
